Year 2

Welcome to Year 2

Khalo Class

Frida Kahlo was a famous artist from Mexico who loved to paint pictures of herself and the world around her. She suffered lots in her life, but she didn’t let that stop her from reaching her dreams of being an artist. Her paintings were very colourful and showed her feelings.

We chose Frida Kahlo as the name for our Year 2 class because she represents resilience, as she never gave up when things got tough, and creativity, as she was never afraid to be unique and imaginative.

Kandinsky Class

Year 2 Class Teacher: Mrs K O’Brien

Year 2 Teaching Assistants: Mrs E Meers, Mrs E Booth-Adams & Ms T Allen

Kandinsky was the founder of abstract art.  A talented musician, he combined his musical skill with a passionate love of the colours and shapes of nature to become a pioneer of expressive art.  Our curriculum driver of creativity underpins everything we do in our class.  Unfettered imagination is a wonderful faculty and one we seek to develop in every child.  Kandinsky’s art is a symbol of all that we aspire to help our children achieve in life.
