Prayers

“Do not worry about anything. But pray and ask God for everything you need. And when you pray, always give thanks. And God’s peace will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. The peace that God gives is so great, we cannot understand it.”

Philipians 4:6-7 (International Children’s Bible)

Prayer is an important part of our daily life at school. As well as prayers during Collective Worship, we pray before lunch and before going home at the end of the day. There are places in classrooms and in our Reflection Area where children can write their own prayers, and they are encouraged to do so.

During our time of school closure, many of the children wrote prayers to describe how they were feeling. We share these prayers with you here to offer you a chance to pause and reflect.

Thank you Lord for the NHS – we truly feel blessed. Thank you for all our teachers, family and friends. May we all stay strong, safe and healthy

Amen

(Jayden)

Dear God

We pray for all those who are suffering because of the coronavirus. When we are afraid for ourselves and for our loved ones, give us your strength and courage. We give thanks for those who care for others and ask you to bless them in all they do.

Amen

(Lenny)

Dear Father in heaven

Help us in this peculiar time and lead us through the depths. May the light of the world create happiness when we are in the dark.

Amen

(Alisya)

Dear God

Thank you for keeping us safe during this pandemic. I pray for divine protection upon all my friends and teachers. I pray that you will give every one of us peace, hope and joy.

In Jesus’ name

Amen

(Joel)

Dear God

Thank you for all the courageous, kind people who were willing to risk their lives for us and their country; some like Colonel Tom are still alive and trying to help the country through this battle as well.

Amen
